The rise of the Deaf Pride movement in the 1980s has introduced a distinction between deaf and Deaf, with the capitalized form used specifically in referring to deaf persons belonging to the community—also known as Deaf culture—that has formed around the use of American Sign Language as the preferred means of communication.

I really appreciate your time your vlogging for all of us on current of WFD in Madrid... Sadly for those people who want to access to WFD Congress, they could not afford to pay for ticket... which are too expensive... 600 euro...for Adults and 425 euro for children (converse in the US money are $ 822.48 for adults and $ 582.59 for children)... Damn expensive..
I am very pleased to see your vlogs (video) and I have enjoyed when watching it.
I understand how they were disappointed over the cost of entry fee, that they cannot afford it.
I thought th US Dollar should be less than or closer to Euro amounts when converting it.
Good work ! Keep it going and we all love to hear your vlogs of WFD. Have a good times,in Spain.

WOW! Expensive. Did anyone who went to WFD know the cost BEFORE arriving there? That's too bad that many people are exclude from participating the event that is meant for all of us!
Thanks for vlogging for us to see so we all can be a part of this.

It has been the same old problem with deaf conferences being prohibitively expensive. When I entered my doctoral program, I still hear complaints from professors in deaf field saying they pay a lot more for deaf conferences than their hearing colleagues attending their own hearing conferences.
We are a low numbered population however I TOTALLY agree that deaf conferences can be funded to make it more accessible for many deaf people so interested in learning and making differences.
Yes it was expensive but let's not forget that WFD paid for people from developing countries to attend.
... people who probably don't get three meals a day or have home computers.
Expensive yes but was I happy to pay a bit more so that someone else could go yes. At the end of the day it just meant staying at home for a couple of weekends.
Really great vlogs! Would definitely recommend people going to WFD in person though - nothing like the real thing!
