Summer Nights from "Grease" performed in American Sign Language
Excellent production, great actors, very cool video.
The rise of the Deaf Pride movement in the 1980s has introduced a distinction between deaf and Deaf, with the capitalized form used specifically in referring to deaf persons belonging to the community—also known as Deaf culture—that has formed around the use of American Sign Language as the preferred means of communication.

Interesting video. While it is well done, as someone who is well familiar with this song and the lyrics, I didn't think the translations were all that great - it was okay, but it wasn't a totally accurate translation. I came away feeling like the ASL was used more as an "art form" than to provide a clear translation of the lyrics.
I think you have to be really careful how you translate musical lyrics from English to ASL - sometimes it works well, other times it doesn't. Personally, I prefer to use more PSE when signing songs, because I think it maintains the original lyrics better.
But it was an enjoyable video. I'm curious where it was made and who are the students - are they Deaf themselves?

Because it is sign language and no matter how skillful or not but just signer anyway and I have no idea who they are, found it at YouTube so I though it is interesting to see signs.
One school, in Mid-Atlantic of United States, was preformed GREASE last Thursday and Friday. It is better and had complete story with all deaf actors and actresses. It was like professional. I recommend you to go to the play next year with new story. It is playing by SSSD.
I actually enjoyed this. It was a contemporary version. Cute actors.
